Kurdish forces on the way to Mosul

In the first day of the operation to release Mosul Kurdish militias have captured from terrorists 200 square kilometers of the territory. 11 communities were freed from militant groups. A strategic route leading to the second largest city in Iraq has been taken under control.

The victims of a suicide bomber have been 70 Iraqi military in Mosul. 

Huge clouds of smoke are rising over Mosul. Jihadis burned trenches filled with fuel oil to prevent aviation in directing the missile to the target. The army with the support of the militia has stopped near 20 kilometers from the city.

Meanwhile, UNICEF has expressed fears of this military intervention. During the assault on Mosul more than half a million children and adults could be affected.
