The Federal Government has taken independence away

Independence Day is a propaganda day. It’s alleged purpose is to celebrate the Revolution against Great Britain, when colonies achieved political independence. However, since that time, the American people have lost their independence from their government. Today they have even less independence than they had under the British. Their government has taken independence away. They had even taken away the Constitution of the USA, which legally guaranties independence. We’ve lost all our civil liberties. We can be detained without a court order, spied on, and stopped in the street and searched. Our papers, our computers, our bank accounts, and our property can be seized without any proof.

The people have very little, if any, effect on political decisions, as the government works for a few very powerful private interest groups such as Wall Street and big banks, the military security complex, and the extracting industry. There is real lobbying. These powerful interests groups control the legislation and the president, and control regulations. American people have almost no impact on policy decisions. When they vote, they really are given actual candidates. The powerful interest groups control who is a candidate and their political contributions.

There was a breakdown of this in these last presidential primaries, because Donald Trump – an outsider – is rich and does not need money from those private interest groups. The fact is that an outsider was able to win the Republican nomination for president against the wishes of the interest groups and the political establishment. If he is selected, we don’t know if he can actually make any changes. The president is one person. The government is large and full of representatives of the powerful interest groups. Trump may find that he can do very little or, if he is a real threat, there is a chance that he could be assassinated.

The last American president that had a real political power and independent position was Ronald Reagan. Since that time, the powerful groups have complete control in the president’s office. That is the reason why we have an economic crisis, fifteen years of war in the Middle East, and the demonization of Russia. This is all for profit. There are no real reasons for this. These powerful interest groups rule America.
