Turkey: More than 1000 arrested for alleged ties to Fethullah Terrorist Organization

The Turkish Interior Ministry reported that about 1096 were detained, because they were suspected of having links with a terrorist organization (the Fethullah Terrorist Organization, FETO). Nearly 500 were arrested.

In addition, 78 activists of the Kurdistan Workers' Party were arrested, accused of supporting Gulen’s organization.

The Turkish Interior Ministry has officially emphasized that more than 220 anti-terrorist operations have beem held.

Moreover, 1656 people were arrested for promoting terrorism in social networks in the past six months.
