Sergey Lavrov: “moderate opposition” are still united with Jabhat al-Nusra

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov affirmed that some groups of the so-called “moderate opposition” are still united with the terrorist organization of Jabhat al-Nusra.”

“The opposition groups, which are named as moderate by Washington, rejected to commit to the Russian-US agreement of September 9th that stipulated boosting the cessation of hostilities and they are still merged with Jabhat al-Nusra as well as they continue their military operations against the Syrian army,”

Lavrov said at a telephone call with his US counterpart John Kerry.

Russia Today quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying that Lavrov called on Washington to carry out its obligations of separating between “moderate opposition” and the terrorist organizations.
