The head of Russia's Orthodox Church is beginning a four-day visit to Britain, in which he will meet the Queen and the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The representatives of the two churches, the Orthodox and Anglican have earlier talked about the impossibility of dialogue, after the Church of England has taken sodomy unions and has imposed a female episcopate.

That’s why, the visit of the head of Russia's Orthodox Church is expected to soften the complicated Russian-British relations. In addition to it, it will be held in the background of talks on Syria in Geneva. This fact was noted by «British atlantists» which are scared the forthcoming visit of the Patriarch, especially in light of the interest of Prince Charles and some persons of the Royal Family to the Orthodoxy.

His visit will mark 300 years of the presence of the Russian Church in the UK.
