OSCE: elections in the US are darker than in Belarus

Thursday, 27 October, 2016 - 11:45

The Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) Michael Georg Link reported about possible violations during the upcoming elections in the USA, the primary part of which has already begun in some states.

Link also added that nearly 6 million Americans are devoid of the opportunity to vote (including only those people, who are in the US)

Jürgen Klimke, the official OSCE observer confirmed the position of the organization, adding that the White House is practiced «unwarrantable influence on voters» and discrepancy between international standards for elections and the real situation with some few zones.

At the same time, Washington continues to criticize the organization of the parliamentary elections in Russia and Belarus. Meanwhile, the Belarusian elections were considered by the OSCE as being transparent and fair, and Russia, with its 12 time zones, could be put as an example for the White House.
