Merkel surrendered to Erdogan: visas to be canceled

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that the decision on visa liberalization between the EU and Turkey can be achieved in the coming weeks.

She announced this after a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, "on the fields» of  G20 summit.

Earlier the head of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker said that the EU may cancel visas for Turkish citizens from October 1 if Ankara fulfills all the necessary conditions, including changes in anti-terrorism legislation.
