The Russian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that no separation between terrorists and the so-called “moderate opposition” in Syria has been reached yet despite Washington’s assertion ,a few months ago, that the issue will not take more than two weeks,

Russia Today website quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova as saying that “We rely on information which the Russian Federation has had about US Senior officials’ assertion that Washington needs two weeks to divide and separate the moderate opposition from terrorists.”

Zakharova added that Russia has received confirmations from Washington regarding this issue in February and March but the US has not embarked on the separation between “moderate opposition” from terrorists in Syria yet, adding that the Russian side does not know the reasons behind the U.S. inability to do so.”

She noted that there is objective evidence that the current talks between the Russian and US experts in Geneva to discuss the situation in Syria are possible to be successful, considering them as “vital, very important, and all we have is to do our best to make it a success”.
