Former Prime Minister of France, presidential candidate Francois Fillon has criticized Western countries for conducting the aggressive policy towards Russia in an interview to Le Monde. According to his words, the military rivalry with Moscow was a big mistake.

Francois Fillon said: “Has the West always been reliable? Not introduced if ever misled by Russia for Libya, in Kosovo, for economic partnership with the EU? Russia has a lot of responsibility, but this country is not alone. I will remind you about the irresponsible statements of those who wanted the entry of Georgia and Ukraine in NATO. We have made a lot of mistakes.”

Moreover, he has noted that Moscow's actions in Syria helped avoid the triumph of ISIS.

“Our relationship with Russia should be rebuilt,” also added Fillon.
