The demonstrators gathered on Paulista Avenue in the Sao Paulo on Saturday to protest Rousseff’s removal from office and the installment of the newly-appointed President Michel Temer on August 31, 2016.

They demanded Temer’s resignation and the holding of snap elections.

In recent days, mass protests have been held in support of Rousseff, who was ousted after an impeachment trial described by her as essentially a “coup.” Clashes were reported during some of the protests between the demonstrators and police forces.

Temer, the new president, faces allegations of election violations.
