A BLAST HITS ANSBACH, GERMANY. AT LEAST 2 DEAD AND SEVERAL WOUNDED

A severe blast was heard in Ansbach, a town near the city of Nuremberg, Germany. Two people have been been confirmed dead and more than 10 people injured. The blast took place at around 10:12 pm local time at a restaurant.

The initial reports were pointing at a gas leak, however the mayor of the town made a statement saying that it was an explosion from an improvised explosion device. The officials said it is a deliberate act and that they don’t assume it was an accident.

A music festival is taking place in the town and about 2 500 visitors have been evacuated.
