An Avenue in Kiev is now named after war criminal of Bandera

No member of the City Council voted against it.

Avenue of Moscow, Russia's capital, in Kiev was renamed Stepan Bandera Avenue. The decision was made at a City Council meeting on Thursday, July 7th.

As was noted by the Deputy of the Kiev City Council from the Svoboda party Yury Sirotyuk, the decision was supported by 87 deputies out of 97 members present. But none voted against it.

"Hurrah! There is an avenue of Stepan Bandera in Kiev (instead of Moscow)! "For" – 87 of 97 attendees. Against – no one. Glory To Ukraine!" wrote Sirotyuk on his page on Facebook.

Deputies also renamed the Kutuzov Street in the General Almazov street, Kutuzov lane into Evgeny Gutsalo lane, Suvorov Street to Mykhailo Omelianovych-Pavlenko street, Bauman Street to Janusz Korczak street.

"It still remains to pressure to obtain Shukhevych Avenue," said Sirotyuk.

As was reported by Korrespondent, it was proposed to rename Kiev's Vatutin Avenue to Shukhevych Avenue.
