In the Iraqi city of Karbala, where Shiite pilgrims gather to celebrate the religious event, a terrorist attack was held. As a result, at least 8 people were killed and 6 wounded.

The terrorists, who were six, attacked the civilians involved in the funeral procession, dedicated to the 40 days after the day of Ashura, the death of Imam Hussein.

None of current groups has taken the responsibility for the bombing. However, law enforcement authorities were able to figure out the criminals; during the raid they were liquidated. Five terrorists were killed by the police, and one, after having been locked in the house, which was surrounded, committed a suicide bombing.
