Al-Assad: Saudis have promised help for betrayal of Iran

The President of Syria Bashar al-Assad told in the interview to the media that Saudi Arabia had offered him assistance if Syria broke off all relations with Iran.

According to the president, such proposals have been reported since the beginning of the war in Syria.

Bashar al-Assad said: «If we were to move away from Iran and announce that we were refusing all relations with Iran, they said they would help me». The President also added that Saudi Arabia wanted to completely destroy Iran in every way.

Let’s recall that Saudis are on the side of the United States, which insists on the need of al-Assad’s resignation. However, the relationship between Riyadh and Washington is rapidly souring.
