The role of the Belarus-Russia union for the formation of a just world order

Speech at the Global Conference on Multipolarity, 29 April 2023.

The world is clearly at the threshold of systemic change in the global structure of international relations. Things will never be the same. The unipolar era of Anglo-Saxon rule is coming to an end. New actors are stepping onto the world stage, ready to shoulder the responsibility for the future world order. Of course, Russia is one such actor. It has come a long way from a regional player to a global powerhouse. Having walked the difficult path of political transformation, Russia has now become an established participant in the global affairs and one of the poles of geopolitical gravity.

It is equally important for the Republic of Belarus as the main ally of Russia in the post-Soviet space. It is only together with Russia that Belarus can protect its sovereignty and independence. It is only together with Russia that Belarus can ensure its regional and national security and fully realize its constructive potential. Cooperation over competition, recovery of long-lost technological chains and creation of joint innovative enterprises will guarantee stable development for Belarus in the coming decades.

Frankly speaking, the fate of Eurasian integration and Eurasia as a whole is directly dependent on the success of the Special Military Operation. The existential challenge has been presented. Belarusian and Russian citizens, our civilization's durability is being tested. But I am confident that victory will be ours, and our enemies will once again be disgraced and defeated. And from now on, together, as the Belarus-Russia union, we will write new pages of the world history and spare no efforts towards the formation of a new, more just world order.
