The revolt of the peoples against the unipolar world
In recent months, we have witnessed a tremendous surge in the liberation of nations and peoples. A liberation from the shackles of the unipolar world and the Western oligarchy. A rebalancing of the worlds is underway.
The vacuum left by the collapse of the Soviet Union after the 90s has put the US in a position of unbridled domination. The balance of the world at the time divided between two-block had disappeared. The United States took advantage of its superpower status to exercise its ambitions and achieve its goals wherever it wished.
To this end, it implemented an aggressive and unrestricted foreign policy based on the political strategy of "divide et impera” (divide and rule), not hesitating to use blackmail (dollar) and threats (army) to control almost all the countries of the world.
By standing up to the American hegemon and its armed wing NATO, Russia has recently offered the rest of the world a formidable accelerator of history. For decades, nations and peoples have been blackmailed and threatened by the American superpower because most of them had neither the financial nor the political, even less the military means to stop the domination of the strong over the weak.
But things are changing, the current geopolitical upheaval is seen as a real opportunity for these countries to break free from their chains.
In a joint effort to liberate themselves and following the example of countries that can stand up to the collective West, many nations are now defying intimidation and ignoring Western sanctions.
A broad liberation movement is emerging.
It is the liberation of peoples from destructive neoliberal ideology.
It is also the liberation of states from Western interference in internal affairs.
And it is the liberation of the global economy from a rigged supranational financial system.
If we take a closer look at current historical events, three major systemic movements are at work today:
First, the movement of peace. Under the impulse of Chinese and Russian diplomacy, which promote international relations based on mutual respect and no longer on confrontation, Saudi Arabia, leader of the Sunni Muslim world, and Iran, leader of the Shiite Muslim world, signed an agreement that ended long years of war and Western influence. This is a major event, which finally makes an era of peace in the Middle East possible. Still in this dynamic, negotiations are also underway for a reconciliation between Turkey and Syria. Syria, which could moreover rejoin the Arab League in the next few weeks.
Then comes the movement of the de-dollarisation. Many countries dependent on the international financial institutions are now finding ways to decouple from the US dollar. Countries are boldly announcing plans to bypass the dollar in their trade (especially in buying oil), in e-commerce and in tourism. It is not only Russia, but also US partners like India, Africa, ASEAN countries, Latin America, Saudi Arabia.
Finally, it is the movement of the revolt of nations against American hegemony.
On the 85th anniversary of the nationalisation of oil in Mexico, Mexican President Lopez declared: "Mexico is not a colony of the United States".
Similarly, Salvadoran President Bukele warned the US that the Monroe Doctrine is dead.
Another Latin American country, Honduras, has just ended diplomatic relations with Taiwan in favour of China.
Even some German leaders are talking about fixing the Nord Stream pipeline and restarting trade with Russia.
The revolt against unipolarity is therefore underway. It is going in the direction of history and it seems that nothing can stop it.
In this context, our country, France, would have had everything to gain by joining the direction of history. It could have taken advantage of the current conflict in Europe to revive its greatness past. To do this, it should have revived the international proposal for a third way that General de Gaulle had made in his time. Neither the USA nor the USSR, but French universalism, which was already a proposal for multipolarity. The honour of France would therefore have been to propose a great conference on peace at Versailles. But not everyone is General de Gaulle. And France today is entirely under American tutelage and this submission is only getting worse. However, for several years now, an ever-widening gap has been growing between the French people and their elite. This was the whole point of the Yellow Vest movement in 2018. This momentum has only grown in recent years, the French people are now seeking their freedom and nothing will stop them.
