Populism Rejuvenated: “Woke” Millennials

The recent Western plunge into narratives of malicious poisonings, be it in Salisbury or in Syria, reflect political infantilism and a fundamental anti-religious mentality. For it presumes enemy attacks on the mineralogical level which is three ontological steps below the human plane with the animal and plant level between them. The about face by Theresa May of embracing the EU and the Rest in the middle of fierce Brexit fights eclipsed for a moment by hurling unsubstantiated accusations against President Putin was a charade. It may well account for just another case of “liberal authenticity” as mere virtue signalling. We are witnessing a Western political-theological showcase of “good vs evil” in the digital age exposing Western diplomatic failure in times of populism.
