THE NOOSE TIGHTENS: WHAT DO WE DO NOW?

A lot of conservatives are asking, “what do we do now?”. The hopelessness and despair which comes from fighting against overwhelming odds is to be understood. But it is no excuse for giving up because of course that is exactly what they want. When they proclaim black as white, when they accuse you of crimes they have committed, when their control of all media channels and platforms grows from 95% to 99%, then it can seem impossible, madness even, to continue. But we should never forget that we have been here before. And here I want to specifically address Christians. Persecution is our natural state. We have been told time and again who the ruler of this world is, and how his grasp will tighten over the course of history. The real power of the devil was unleashed in full fury after 1789 and has gone from strength to strength since that time. But even 2000 years ago, the Roman Empire used its own stranglehold on the media to promote fake news against Christians. In AD64 the Emperor Nero accused the Christians of burning Rome [Fake news] in order to destroy them and provide an alibi for his own guilt [remind you of anything else?]. Even in those times the Roman State had a monopoly on the media and whipped up the Roman populace into a fury against the Christians. Here is the account of Tacitus, writing at the time, "Therefore, to stop the rumour [that he Nero had set Rome on fire], he [Emperor Nero] falsely charged with guilt, and punished with the most fearful tortures, the persons commonly called Christians, who were [generally] hated for their enormities… Accordingly first those were arrested who confessed they were Christians; next on their information, a vast multitude were convicted, not so much on the charge of burning the city, as of "hating the human race". In their very deaths they were made the subjects of sport: for they were covered with the hides of wild beasts, and then torn to death by dogs, or nailed to crosses, or set fire to, and when the day waned, burned alive to serve for the evening lights. Nero offered his own garden players for the spectacle, and exhibited a Circensian game, indiscriminately mingling with the common people in the dress of a charioteer, or else standing in his chariot." Fast-forward 2000 years and the last century represents an almost endless series of massacres against Christians, with the persecution of the Bolsheviks at the top with its piles of millions of victims. On both occasions, the Christians existed under an information blockade, with the media under the total control of the persecutors. There are differences which can make today’s situation seem particularly disheartening. Today’s progressives now not only control the media, but its very infrastructure. Moreover, their control is borderless and ingrained and affirmed by a total control of education. Finally, today’s social media has a way of colonising the mind and worldview of its victims with a brainwashing far in excess of any previous hegemonies. I know this from personal experience of having once been a progressive myself and from knowing many progressives. Whilst many may question a few minor details, on the whole, they believe the grand narratives put out by the mainstream media.

As the mainstream media has tightened its grip, it has also changed its tactics. Again, this can seem even more discouraging, and it is intended to do so. Allum Bokhari’s book #DELETED: Big Tech's Battle to Erase the Trump Movement and Steal the Election investigates how the Big Techs pooled resources to destroy the Trump movement. In fact, they made no secret of this, and it was proclaimed as a mission at the Google AGM after the 2016 election. They blamed themselves for letting Trump be elected, now they would make sure it did not happen again. The new method of the Big Techs was subtly different to that of the terrestrial channels but has subsequently been adopted by both. They moved to de-platform anything which questioned the progressive narrative. In those cases where a Google search specifically demanded information harmful to their cause, the results would only show the progressive interpretation. Thus, if I search for “Hunter Biden’s laptop” on Google, I will have to wade through pages of the New York Times and The Guardian’s “fake laptop story” before I reach anything nearing the truth. If this is what I am seeing (who rarely read the New York Times or the Guardian) I can only imagine what comes up for a normal brainwashed person. Every person who has seen through the endless lies and cultural-Marxist propaganda of the mainstream media and Big Tech, has done it once and forever. There is no going back, and they will never assess anything that comes from these sources without the greatest suspicion. The problem is that increasingly there are no other sources of information. For example, the media have moved from giving Trump a bad press, to giving him no press. A hugely important and hour-long speech given by the president of the USA after the election, a speech proclaimed by Trump as “the most important of his life” barely made the news. This tactic of silence is now used not only by the media but by all channels control. Take the example of the socialist humanist (and probably atheist) who calls himself “Pope Francis”. He almost never speaks about Catholic dogma. Almost never speaks about sin and redemption. Almost never speaks about the greatest crime of our age: the normalisation of child-murder on an industrial scale. A crime which makes the deaths from coronavirus look like a grain of sand in the oceans. This can only be because he does not believe in Christian teaching and the best way to kill it is not to give it a bad press, but to give it no press, to let dogmas die, by passing them over in silence.

It might be bearable, if it was only the media and Big Tech that the cultural Marxists control. But they also control the Deep State, not only in the USA, but in the EU and the UK. They have an iron grip also over academia with almost no dissenting voices. They also control the legal systems and even the top brass of the military. For Catholics at least they also control about 95% of their own Church hierarchy. Being a non-progressive these days is like fighting a battle where you and few trusty friends are armed with muskets, facing a sky full of military drones being manned from a command centre in California. A non-progressive today is like a man whose house is burgled and burned down. When he goes to police, the man behind the counter is the brother of the perpetrator. When he goes to trial, the judge turns about to be the perpetrator’s father. Finally, he is convicted of burning down his own house and is lambasted into the media in a sea of hysterical abuse. In such a situation, it is easy for conservatives, Christians or anyone even vaguely seeking the truth, to feel hopelessly outgunned and that any resistance is pointless. What can we do?

For Christians, we need to put ourselves in the position of the Christians from previous centuries mentioned above.  We need to put ourselves in the position of a priest in Russia, who, after spending twenty years in the salt mines is brought before a “court” to be “tried for anti-Soviet sedition” and then shot. I noted with interest how the MSM sneered with relish at young Republicans kneeling in prayer outside polling stations in the 2020 election. I see the same twisted sneers on the crowds in the Roman amphitheatre echoing down the centuries. We need to realise that our war is a cosmic war, not against humans, but against “the principalities and powers”. For truly, 99% of progressives are simply brainwashed pawns in the battle of Good and Evil. Instead of hatred, progressives should inspire in us pity and compassion. Imagine how awful it must be to a person who is brainwashed and has no inkling of it? A person who says, “I hereby give my mind to Google and the BBC, and in return, I will be left alone because thinking is too hard for me. I just want to get on with my life.” Would you want to be one of these people? Even with all the power they have? I would rather be the last person on earth and be able to think for myself, than be such a person.

But whilst showing pity and compassion. The words of Our Lord here are ever more true: “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” We must realise, that despite the liberals’ veneer of ‘niceness’ that they want to kill us. We know this from the cartloads of corpses from history: from the Vendee to Phnom Penh.  Even if they personally do not want to kill us as individuals, they want to kill our beliefs, our practices, our control over our own lives and our families. Most liberals do not see a cosmic side to history. They are materialists who believe that history just ambles along with no purpose. This is our great advantage. We know that history is a titanic struggle between man’s hubris and humility before the laws of the Creator. They want us to feel that it is pointless to vote (because they can control that anyway), that it is pointless to post online, that it is pointless to demonstrate, pointless to preach the truth. The want us to feel totally outgunned so we give up. But if there was any time for it, then the time is now: we must make the sign of the cross and load our muskets.
