Netanyahu: The Zionist Pinocchio
Two weeks ago, Lebanese Caretaker Foreign Minister Gibran Bassil accompanied a group of foreign ambassadors to a site in the southern suburb of Beirut, near the airport, to refute the claims of the apartheid Zionist entity’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu; describing it as a “Hezbollah missile site.”
These claims have emerged when Netanyahu took the stage of the 73rd annual session of the UN General Assembly, in New York, to bring out the anti-Iran threadbare allegation that Iran is working to develop nuclear weapons at secret atomic warehouse in Tehran.
Netanyahu further claimed that the national resistance, Hezbollah has built three missile storehouses as part of the joint effort with Iran and Hezbollah to upgrade the organisation’s long-range precision ground-to-ground missile force, near Beirut’s Rafiq Hariri International Airport, underneath the stadium of Hezbollah-affiliated al-Ahed football team and in the middle of a residential neighbourhood.
Netanyahu presented an aerial photograph of the airport just as a method to influence public opinion, proving that he is “the boy who cried wolf,” exactly just like how the Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, described him; saying he “can only fool some of the people so many times.”
Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in his latest speech has boasted that the resistance now possesses highly accurate missiles despite the Zionist enemy’s attempts to prevent it from acquiring them. This prompted Netanyahu that Hezbollah has been improving its capabilities and guided missiles.
Sayyed Nasrallah said the balance of power in the region has changed and asked his supporters to be confident and the Zionists to be concerned of Hezbollah's precision missiles and weapons capabilities, saying if they impose a war on Lebanon, “Israel will face a destiny and reality it didn't expect any day.”
In parallel, Lebanon’s Foreign Minister, Bassil said, “Hezbollah’s intelligence and wisdom and Lebanon's interest do not allow the presence of invisible missiles of the type “Israel” has alleged.” He further added, “It is true that Hezbollah possesses missiles, but they are not near the airport. Lebanon is committed to international law and international resolutions but it does not abide by the dissociation policy when the matter is related to defending its land and people.”
Minister Gibran Bassil went on to say that the Lebanese have “a legitimate right to resistance, until the liberation of all occupied territory […] Today Lebanon is calling on all countries, especially the permanent UN Security Council members, to reject “Israeli” claims in order to prevent any Israeli attack on Lebanon.” Bassil warned that such an assault would have repercussions across the region, asserting that the Zionist enemy is seeking to justify another aggression against Lebanon under the excuse of the presence of Hezbollah missile sites.
The Zionist entity has attacked Lebanon’s sovereignty thousands of time and thus Lebanon has the complete right to defend itself. Its steadfastness and resistance have hideously defeated the enemy. Bassil that the tour was not “a fact-finding mission,” but part of a “counter-diplomatic campaign” to rebut the enemy’s allegations, which he said could serve as a pretext for an Israeli attack.
Remarkably, the US ambassador’s Elizabeth Richard did not partake in the tour as she was allegedly outside Lebanon. Nevertheless, if the Americans’ intention was to hear the Lebanese perspective and to refute the Zionists’ propaganda, it would be possible to send any diplomat representing the embassy. The most prominent absentee from the field tour, were ambassadors and representatives of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, with the exception of the charge d'affaires of the Amman embassy.
Bassil has revealed the falsity of the enemy’s accusations and its intentions to launch a full-scale war on Lebanon’s infrastructure, civilian facilities and residential areas, from the forum of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
Both Netanyahu and Tel Aviv’s threats would never affect the Lebanese and their resistance’s attitudes. They will continue fighting to regain their occupied lands and legitimate rights guaranteed by the international laws. The Pinocchio paradox arises when Pinocchio says, “My nose grows now” and is a version of the liar paradox. As such Netanyahu is, he will keep lying and our resistance will keep its defence against his illegitimate entity, any time it violates our independence and sovereignty.
