The leaders discussed infrastructure projects.

Dam and Bridge

The project to build the dam is a 3.6 bln dollars proposal, and the major bridge undertaking will span a length of some 32 km., from the Chinese region of the Kunlun to the border region of Kokang, Myanmar. These topics were the main issues at the meeting.

The total amount of Chinese investment could reach 15.4 billion USD, and China is Myanmar's biggest foreign partner.

Ethnic conflicts

It should be noted that the Kokang region in Myanmar is inhabited by ethnic Chinese, who led a guerrilla war against the Government of Myanmar. Thus, through intergovernmental agreements, Myanmar's government is trying to solve its ethnic problems.
